So well, I fit in the middle of one of those Venn diagramsfor the Surface Go 2 because I love tiny computers and I know how to work with it whenthere're many, many limitations. Well its time to review the oneplus nord.Sothis device has been my daily driver since almost 2 weeks now and in this video let’ssee if it is one of the best device’s you can buy under 30,000 in india what’s goingon everybody this is your host manik welcome to another video. Well i ll try to keep it short and simplein 5 main points 1.Hardware and specs2.Software & performance 3. Camera4. Gaming & Battery Backup5. Conclusion So coming quickly to the first point - specs So the oneplus nord has a 6.4 inch full hdamoled display with 90hz refresh rate that is protected by gorilla glass 5 and has dualpunch hole selfie camera’s on the front, it is powered by a 7nm based snapdragon 765g processor clocked at 2.4ghz with adreno 630gpu. The unit that i have has 8gb of lpddr4x ramalong with 128 gb of ufs 2.1 storage.Powering this setup is a 4115mah battery along with30watt warp charge support In the camera department you get a 32mp sonyimx 616 sensor on the front along with an 8mp ultrawide angle camera, and on the back
you get a similar gorilla glass 5 protection and a 48 mp sony imx 586 sensor along withan 8mp ultrawide 5mp macro and a 2mp depth sensor. Plus You also get bluetooth 5.1 and 5g supportwith this one along with an in display fingerprint scanner and that was it for specs. Coming to software and performance- Well theoneplus nord runs on oxygen os 10.5 built on top of android 10 and unlike other customskins it is neat and clean and it is one of the good features of this oxygen os ,thoughthat is going to change with oxygen os 11 sadly but overall the software on this deviceis really smooth , there are no bugs anywhere and all the apps run smoothly on this device,you wont feel any stutters in day to day tasks and the 90hz display surely feels smoooth. The in display fingerprint scanner is alsoquite fast and responsive and i like that i dont have to pick up my device everytimeto unlock it., plus it has fast face unlock too which works like a charm if you are toolazy to touch your device. In benchmark scores well i have been observingthe scores on geekbench and they have been increasing with each updates so that is agood sign and as of last update it scores 620 in single core and 1967 in multi corescores which is great for a mid ranger.
And some of you have been facing tint issueswith this display and honestly speaking my device too has a little bit of it near thecamera and sides but it is unnoticeable until you go in the dark and use your device. I have seen units literally plagued with thisissue so do check and ask for a replacement if you have a major issue with your deviceand if you can't live with even a little bit of it then just consider any other device.Overallthis display is good enough and the color and everything is acceptable for the mostpart. Now coming to the camera’s well as we havecovered specs already lets talk directly about these camera’s well the back camera on thisdevice is really good and capable and i have been a oneplus 6 user since past 2years nowand this back camera just gives excellent images in day light , from still subjectsto buildings to portraits everything is in balance. I could manage some really good quality shotswith the primary sensor you can go as close to the subject as you want and it will givea good output in return, It can even take better macro shots than that5mp macro camera which is funny because there was no need of a mediocre lens for it andmost of the time i did not even use that macro camera. That ultrawide angle camera is surely helpfulthough i would have been happier to have 2 high quality camera’s but you can managesome usable images with this ultra wide sensor and i appreciate the option. Here are some sample from that macro cameratoo in cas you wish to see it and as i said its barely usable to be honest but okay cantdo anything about it though oneplus is trying hard by improving it with updates and i appreciatethat.
Plus you can manage some decent shots in lowlight scenarios too with the primary camera and here are the samples. Also here is a video sample shot on oneplusnord and for some reason the back camera has only 4k 30 fps whereas the front facing onehas 4k 60fps video support. So overall the back camera setup of this deviceis surely impressive. Also here are some of the samples shot inslow motion on this device. Coming to the 32mp front facing camera wellits average at best and the quality does not feel like that good and the images are quitegrainy and they look a bit washed out and over exposed and its nothin g that cannotbe fixed with an update and i hope things will improve soon. You can get some decent wide angle shots inday light which is always a good option to have. By the way if you are enjoying this videodo consider pressing that subscribe button if you havent already Coming to the gaming and battery backup:Well if you want an in depth gaming test dont worry it will come soon but in short thisdevice can run almost any game you throw at it from pubg to call of duty to any otherintensive game and the performance for the most part whilegaming has been good there were no lags or frame drops in any of the game plus the devicedid not heat up that much but if you are a pubg fan then you might have to wait for anupdate for smooth extreme settings as they are not available right now but the companyhas claimed that it will be added soon so do keep that in mind. Just like good performance you do get goodbattery life too look if you use your device at 90hz you mightend up with 5-6 hrs of screen on time at max and if you use your device at 60hz you willend up with 7hrs or more of screen on time which is respectable if not the best for thsi4100mah battery, Plus due to warp charge 30t support you can charge it in around 1 hr orso and if you need a comparison of warp vs dash charge do let me know in the commentsection down below. Coming to the tiny complaints that i havewith this device, well first would be the speaker quality well its average at best itgets decently loud but isnt that clear though you do get dirac support on this device, secondwould be well the plastic frame that is not so durable as compared to the metal one soyou’ll have to be a bit careful and keep it away from back pockets.
And the last one would be availability sothe base variant is not even on sale and even the regular variants come in stock temporarilyand people have to buy it in flash sales though i hope this will get addressed really soon. Also i would advice you to get a screen protectoras the default one is only a plastic film and will get scratched up pretty quickly incase you are using your device without a case. So to conclude well it is a capable devicein this price point in case you are up for stock type ui, decent camera’s and wellmidrange specs which is the case with most devices right now as they have been gettingcostlier in 2020 plus it has 5g support and will receive constant updates for next 2 yearsor so.
